England Fencing is now able to offer this course at a reduced rate to volunteers who work with children within an affiliated English club.

The first course will be held at NSTC, Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire on Sunday 26 June starting at 1.00 pm. The charge will be £15.00 per head to include the NSPCC book ‘Protecting Children’. This course is the lowest level of training accepted by NSPCC and Sport England for those working with young people and vulnerable adults and is suitable for: volunteer coaches, all club officials and assisting parents or chaperones.

In order to maximise the coverage to as many clubs as possible in the first instance England Fencing would prefer to offer 1 place to each affiliated club. Extra places will be made available in due course as additional courses are offered.

It is intended that by July 2006 each affiliated club within England should have had at least one member of their committee, ideally the welfare officer, attend this course.
